Competition Council is an autonomous administrative body aimed at protecting and stimulating competition in order to ensure a normal competitive environment, with a view towards the consumers’ interests.
Competition Council’s role has two major dimensions: a corrective dimension – restoring and maintaining a normal competitive environment and a preventive dimension – monitoring markets and observing the behaviour of the actors participating in such markets.

18.06.2009  - Competition - Complaints / Requests - By Order no. 143/13.05.2009, following a complaint, an investigation was opened on the Romanian market of the cement sort CEM I 52,5R, having as object the alleged infringement of art. 6 of Competition Law no 21/1996, republished, by SC Lafarge Ciment (Romania) SA.
15.04.2009  - Competition - Ex-officio investigations - 15.04.2009 By Order no. 119 from 15.04.2009 an ex-officio investigation was initiated having as object the possible infringement of the provisions of art. 5 par. (1) from the Romanian Competition Law no. 21/1996, republished and of art. 81 par. (1) from the Treaty establishing the European Community by the Romanian Football Professional League and its members, by the Romanian Football Federation and its members regarding the joint selling of the football matches commercial rights.
15.04.2009  - Competition - Ex-officio investigations - 15.04.2009 By Order no. 120 from 15.04.2009 an ex-officio investigation was initiated having as object the possible infringement of art. 5 par. (1) from the Romanian Competition Law no. 21/1996, republished and of art. 81 par. (1) from the Treaty establishing the European Community by the Consortium constituted between SC Antena 1 SA and SC RCS&RDS SA regarding the capitalization of the television rights of the football matches from the Romanian Championship - First League, as they are foreseen by the contract no. 428/04.08.2008, concluded between Romanian Football Professional League and the Consortium constituted between SC Antena 1 SA and SC RCS&RDS SA.
25.02.2009  - Competition - Ex-officio investigations - 25.02.2009 - Competition - Ex-officio investigations - By Order no. 79/25.02.2009 an ex-officio investigation was initiated having as object the possible infringement of art.5 (1) of the Competition law and art. 81 of the EC Treaty on the market for services provided by expert accountants, licensed accountants and accounting undertakings.
17.02.2009  - Competition - Ex-officio investigations - By Order no. 68/17.02.2009 an investigation was initiated, aiming at a better understanding of the dairy market in the producer-processor phase.
